Why wood?

Everyone should include wood in their decor. Wood is warm, inviting, natural and neutral. Wood fits in without being overpowering. Wood is always in style. In this hi-tech world it feels good to come home to wood.

What wood do we use?

We use old wood (recycled from old buildings) or government approved plantation hardwood. All our wood including old wood is of the highest quality and is professionally kiln dried to ensure maximum stability. In addition, we only work with factories that employ artisans capable of maintaining our high standards of workmanship including first class carpentry,  joinery and finishing. Just as each sofa style can look better in a certain fabric compared to others, hardwood for each style of furniture we develop is specifically chosen for that piece or collection. Hardwoods that we use include teak, mahogany, elm, walnut, oak and camphor. Note, although much of our furniture is made from solid hardwood we also use high quality birch and teak veneers in some pieces.

Love your wood!

The best way to maintain your fine Tequila Kola furniture is with all natural beeswax (we have developed "dark" and "clear" for sale) and premium wood oils. Both beeswax and oil nourish and moisturise wood, thus assisting in the prevention of cracks and "hazing" due to the wood drying out. Beeswax will leave your wood with a "Matte antique glow". Oil, especially after buffing will give a higher shine than beeswax.
